Watch what is going on week of March 1

ONE OF A KIND WATCH CUFF'S.
http://www.newbury-st.com/Boston/63/3009/Accessories/Lunarik_Fashions New Bags dropped off at Lunarik Fashions! This is Rik Gelhart holding the new Obama theme bag that he asked me to do for his boutique. I don't like to bring Politics into my art work. With this said, when Rik suggested doing this idea, I agreed only for Lunarik Boutique, It is not something i would project in my own art work to make a political statement.
Speaking of Obama and politics a student did a Obama tray that i posted last week on the blog.
The tray can now be seen in Feb 24 Blog at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
This student has taken the class for close to a year and has been learning sponging technique's.
I donated a Hand bag to Massachusetts Coalition for Homeless for there
Whats in the Bag auction. All the information can be found at there web site.
href="http://www.mahomeless.org/events/specialevents.html">http://www.mahomeless.org/events/specialevents.html The Event is held at the Taj Hotel in Boston April 1. Lastly I want to continue some research i have been doing on watches, As i mentioned in my last Blog I am really fascinated by them, This week i went to a site
Business weekly listed the top ten watches.
I wondered what made these watches the TOP. Was it the 18K gold hand engraved dial? What about a watch with a MOON PHASE DISPLAY? Lastly Manual winding tourbillion?
I found one watch priced at 300,000

Here is that word TOURBILLON, it got me curious.
The word Tourbillion means according to the wikipedia this the mechanics of a watch escapement. Invented in 1795 by French watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet, a tourbillon counters the effects of gravity by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage, ostensibly in order to negate the effect of gravity when the timepiece (and thus the escapement) is rotated. Originally an attempt to improve accuracy, tourbillons are still included in some expensive modern watches as a novelty and demonstration of watchmaking virtuosity. The mechanism is usually exposed on the watches face to show it off.
When i design watch cuff's out of images, there is something i like to disfigure than configure . A watch tells a story about the person to me.
So watches go way beyond time....
Until next week..
